The focus is on streamlining routine reporting processes efficiently and at a large scale. Robot journalism usually comes into play when there are structured data sets available, such as those related to traffic incidents, sports scores, and real estate transactions. Media organizations utilize the extensive robot-generated content as a foundation to establish new websites, expand into different regions, capture new audiences, and enhance revenue streams. Furthermore, they provide customers with timely notifications about news and events, which can be delivered directly to websites, mobile applications, or as push alerts. By tailoring messages based on context, location, or user behavior, they ensure that the right information reaches the audience precisely when needed. Interestingly, our observations indicate that reducing costs in newsrooms is seldom the primary drive behind automation initiatives for the media groups we partner with; rather, their focus is on enhancing and investing in local journalism to foster loyalty among community readers. Utilizing robots enables these organizations to broaden their hyper-local reporting capabilities and address the challenges posed by news deserts, ultimately enriching the media landscape and serving communities better.
